A couple of bugs: Maria's outfits in scenes seem to be bugged. No matter what I select she usually wears only 2 outfits - the one with red socks and succubus.
The last available Felicity/Emma story uses Sylvia even if she is not freed yet
By the way, I have finished many storylines and in my opinion the price for Sylvia is ridiculous. I have invested most of the money from the gift into the hotel hoping for future returns, but it left me no money for Sylvia. And it seems that the game at certain point starts expecting that I am supposed to have her. I can't progress Autumn's story for a month or so, and my money is close to zero.

Really enjoyed the game and story. I just noticed that we can replay all the stories in the gallery. However there are only gallery for main characters. Will there be gallery for the sub characters as well?
anyone got lucia's second event to play out? still getting the issue where nothing happens after clicking on the door and the tracker updates to 2/8. no repeatable scene unlocked and the third event plays after going back to own room
I played through this game a couple times, have been following the wiki since my first playthrough, but have never gotten the 3-some scene (2/8), always skips to the car keys (3/8)
this might be a bit different then normal. im TRYING to delete saves. its gotten cluttered and ive lost track of whats what and would much rather just wipe it all and start over with the new content ( with the cash cheat this time) but i just cant figure out how. ive deleted the save file folder in the itchio app since thats what i use but they are still there. please give me a sign oh great Gaius!
I'm not sure what the save file in the itchio app is, but it doesn't keep HH's saves (as you've found out). They are stored in %appdata%.
But there are easier ways to get rid of saves. Simply overwrite them or move on to the next page. You have an infinite number of pages. You can even rename each page and reserve one for each character.
I've found it! According to the itchio app you hover your mouse over the save file and hit the 'backspace' or 'delete' key. Cleaned all my saves up and cleared the clutter. Now down to 2 saves for the love or slave routes.
i was hopping for some cheats that jus get the status of everyone to the max without losing any story so that i can chose any choice in their story as i go thru it the cheats that already has cut so much of the story and that is kind sad you know? just my opinion, im loving the game anyway k
Hey Runey! Don't know if you remember the conversation we had a while back about your "direction" for the game... I wouldn't, if I were you & being overwhelmed with the feedback you got so far. That being said; I LOVE this update. SPOILER FOR EVERYONE WHO HASN'T PLAYED THROUGH THIS GAME FULLY, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!! The rework to Android's story make it far, FAR more believable, also, the Player Char actually gets to intervene with the loud voice I'd imagine he'd have - on certain topics, at least. Him "putting Ashley in her place" when it comes to Android's breast size, reminding her "how it feels like to be the new girl", is nothing short of excellent. Same goes to Kali's updates. As far as the new content goes - every single bit an piece falls into place, and while I am dying to figure out what Felicity & Emma's father is up to... and where he stands... you are doing simply everything right to push the storyline where it's meant to be pushed. Only bit of criticism I have is that exploring Calibre feels sorte meaningless, like a waste of time - that being said, that's coming from someone who never had that option previously. I didn't NEED any of that, is what I am going to say - but again, people that may be playing this game completely from scratch a few years down the line will definitely feel different about it, so my opinion is basically worthless in this regard. Only thing I would say - and I have a feeling that's on your To-Do anyway - is that I would love for Autumn to acknowledge meeting the PC before, if he did, when she joins the Hotel. Nothing more to add. Keep it up, mate! You've literally addressed all of my concerns and are far exceeding expectations. Congratulations on creating a game where the NSFW stuff is not actually vital to the game's success! :)
(Okay, last bit of tiny grief... I enjoyed Kali's previous Sleep With scene more, when she looked the PC in the eye after waking up, because that felt like a proper "lovely moment" :) If you find the time, please try to create 1-2 scenes during Event 15 (?) where the PC and Kali ACTUALLY share a bed for the first time. The Explore Caliber feature is only meant to be played at the very beginning of the game. It fills in the gaps, provides a way to gain easy/simple sex, and adds a new way to make money in the early game. This should result in a much smoother experience when starting. The goal is for the player to never need to click the Advance Time button. (which is something that happened often earlier when there was less to do)
That's what I love about your updates the most - you actually address all of the criticism & critique in our mind :D
As I said then: The "Explore Calibre" won't affect me (as a veteran player) any bit, but may just do wonders for new players. Good call on your end! That being said, and I know you have it on your mind - make sure that, for example, meeting Autumn early has the appropriate effect!
Again, that's coming from someone who ignored all of the "Religion BS" in your story, including that "weaving the staff of making water move a certain way" kind of rubbish, because to me, the Church of Gaius is just one enemy to slay.
Then again, I may expect from the story what noone should realistically expect...
Question 1: This question might've already been asked, but I'm noticing the girls have special outfits when you visit them at night (really love Lin's, btw), and I'm wondering when we'll get that as an option during sex.
Question 2: When will we get the option for repeated sex with Sylvia? I notice that the option is there for Nia, even though I'm "not close enough to her yet." (Already completed all her stuff up to 0.16, so I assume that's just an incomplete part of a future build.) Loved Sylvia's scene. Deliciously hot.
I loved all the new content. I can't help but notice how this update had more than a few male elves (finally!), lol. Nice development. Really retuned my sense of them being kept completely apart from female elves and just worked to death out of sight and mind. Ken came across as very dangerous and utterly ruthless. Definitely a threat. I imagine we're going to be seeing him again. Maybe he'll try blackmailing us. ...Or maybe he's just a terrific actor and is actually running a secret network that helps elves. With your great storytelling, who knows!
I love the way that Ash has turned into a steely-eyed badass. Nia's scene was glorious. Nice musical choice.

Question 3: are we going to be able to have sex with Jin again? It almost feels wrong to ask, since I have so much sympathy for her. But we were able to have enthusiastic sex with her in the dungeon right after getting her, and now it's not even an option, even when she wears vines like Lin. Feels a little bit odd since we were able to sleep with the new addition to the sanctuary right away. (That part would be my only criticism, btw. I was kind of surprised she was so willing to have sex right after being acquired, especially after having been told her life would be better. Would've been nice if there'd been some kind of minor story there to build up to it.)
There are so many places in the story where I feel an urge to make a kind, comforting gesture to these girls. Or intervene and stand up for them, and just make them feel like somebody cares about them as more than objects. A lot of the new parts in the slums provoked that feeling.
Question 4: how much more development is ahead for Ann? Because I really, really want more with her. I feel like she's never felt truly loved, and I find myself wanting to give her that.

I'd also invite you to flip the coin & see the POTENTIAL. Then again, that's exclusively YOUR call. (Though, considering how you've "built up" Dark Elven heritage with Ann, that extremist society in their former ruins AND Maria's Dark Elven heritage, there should be some conclusion to that. In my humble opinion, anyway.)
Im very often stuck on a screen that says "I should get closer to Nia". But i have no idea who it is. it just repeats this message when i click on the screen. Luckly i still can press the time forward button which gets me out of the screen.
Nia is the ninja girl. Go visit the sanctuary. :) If she's not there, make sure you're visiting in the first 2 portions of the day. Or check out the kitchen, or the garden, or the bar.
she is not listed there for me yet, guess i still have to meet her. But ty for the quick response. And when im already at it let me tell you that you made an more than awseome job at the game. I love your story telling and how you wrote all the characters. Its incredible how deep each background goes and how realistic they are with all the little traits and problems that make out who someone is.
Guessing he's having the standard "JoiPlay doesn't work" problem, but hoping you'll fix someone else's program. RenPy is just an addon needed for JoiPlay to run the game after all.
You must mean JoiPlay, RenPy is just an addon that lets you run the game. Ask JoiPlay's forums, they sometimes release broken versions and it's up to them to fix their program, not a random indie game dev. Best we can offer is to downgrade your JoiPlay to a working version, as this fellow offered.
Yeah, I shouldn't have followed this advice. If you are trying to update from an older version on joiplay, and you do that by installing the new download instead of patching it by holding the icon, it will delete all of your save files.
I'd appreciate not being blamed for your actions. When you delete your old game folder, you delete the saves folder within. Moving your saves to the new folder instead of deleting them would have been preferable.
Would have been great if you had said that instead of just saying "follow the instructions" when the only instructions provided will delete save files.
So aside from the rating, which I still think you've done a great job on the game.....
I do wish that there was a possibility to bring the Side characters and Autumn down to the dungeon... besides that I think you have a pretty solid adventurous slice of life harem series .
Extra feedback: Now that you incorporate the City maybe you could make additional dates/outings there or even send out different characters to work side jobs?
also since there are other cities mentioned and even the Ascendants and Elves islands - maybe you could build a story line around opening up another hotel and it's intertwined somehow with it.
I would say this game out of most on here is very close to " playing "an anime, because of the character story lines, the art style and the variety of circumstances - very good job so far. Can't wait to see more.

The Ascendants are based in Caliber, which should have been made clear. And you've been to Syl'iath (the elf islands) in Lin's story (where you met the High Elf Queen)
And thank you! When writing the story for HH I see each story event as like an episode in a season, and each arc like seasons in a show. These shows being each main character's storyline. Each of these "shows" are leading towards something bigger, like a "movie", where all the paths will connect for a while. I also take cinematic inspiration from movies and some anime with good cinematography. Eventually I want to add themed music to each/most events but that is a bigger undertaking.
So I got a new machine and started over from the beginning. Have to say that the new intro material was really well done! Keep up the fantastic job Runey!
When you're in the kitchen for Sylvia's event and the choice comes up, "hear her out" or "Leave," just seeing that option there, to walk away after that build-up... I bust out laughing! XD I couldn't stop. Don't even know why I found it so funny, but the instant I read "Leave" I laughed so hard!

Can you add Vietnamese to this game, Runey? I also study English but it's pretty much not enough to read the story's happenings fully. I quite enjoyed the plot but was hindered by the language. Just my own opinion
I do see many people translate their own language into their own mother tongue. What are the two people who translate Chinese? I saw in China that they put your works into a paid website for members to download after machine translation.

Odd event I came across in new version of game. When I click on Autumn's door on Thursday which is day 95 for me. It says "She is at work right now". But when I click on Maria's door and it starts her event. Autumn is with her.
Crap. I didn't know you needed that. Also, I'm at Corpus Cafe on a Sunday when Autumn is suppose to be at church. She's also treating the MC like she doesn't know him. I know it's Autumn, cause she told the same story about her and her sister working there after their parents built the cafe. Maybe I'm doing the whole game wrong and missing alot lol. I still enjoy the game though. I know you worked hard on this cause I'm a programmer.
I think you missed the part that said "WARNING: THESE SCENES ARE MEANT TO BE PLAYED AT THE VERY BEGINNING OF THE GAME" at the beginning of the explore content.
So I had to start the game completely over for this version? lol I guess I did missed that part since I like to continue a new version of a game where I saved from an older one. Sorry about that. It took me too long to get to day 100 :P
More seriously though, Harem Hotel has not had an official apk since v0.12, as .apk has a limit of 2gB, which the game has long since surpassed, even at 90% compression. Fan ultra compressions exist to bring it below that threshold and thus allow it to be an .apk, but it will have severely reduced image quality, especially as the game gets bigger with each update.
- I've just found out that moving the game files to SD card, saves aren't working and generating correctly. It may be an issue already on Joiplay. - Retaining the game files to the main storage of a phone will make the saves work and generate.
- Anyway you could try to figure this out Mr. Runey because it's kinda big game and playing it from SD card would relieve my storage misery.
We've known that's an issue for a while (one of our Discord members is waiting to get a phone with bigger storage because it doesn't function on SD card).
As Runey said though, he has no control over that. Could be worth asking JoiPlay, but it may be a similar result.
Autumn bugged? Whenever I try to talk to Autumn, it tells me I need to raise Lin's friendship. However, Lin's obedience is already over 100. What is going on?
a bug I encountered: Im not sure if this is just on Maria’s bartender outfit, but at some point in time I bought Maria’s bartender outfit, and it never showed up as purchased. I keep trying to purchase it again, but it just keeps saying “you just bought this item.”
Not a bug - if you buy it, it has been bought. When you buy things, it tells you to pick it up when it's delivered, which you get a second notification for when it does, usually the next morning. Check your mail via your front door.

These bugs have been fixed in v0.16.1
There are many ways to make money, both passively and actively. I recommend those methods when you need more money.

The "Others" tab is for Side Characters, and as Runey mentioned, could use a lot more existing events in there.

Im very often stuck on a screen that says "I should get closer to Nia". But i have no idea who it is. it just repeats this message when i click on the screen. Luckly i still can press the time forward button which gets me out of the screen.
Nia is the ninja girl. Go visit the sanctuary. :) If she's not there, make sure you're visiting in the first 2 portions of the day. Or check out the kitchen, or the garden, or the bar.

All important characters show up in the info (i) screen, Nia is under Side Characters
she is not listed there for me yet, guess i still have to meet her. But ty for the quick response. And when im already at it let me tell you that you made an more than awseome job at the game. I love your story telling and how you wrote all the characters. Its incredible how deep each background goes and how realistic they are with all the little traits and problems that make out who someone is.
How do you advance Vanessa passed lvl 1? I've had the exclamation mark and finished everything else but can't figure it.

Why are you downloading Renpy? This is Harem Hotel.
Guessing he's having the standard "JoiPlay doesn't work" problem, but hoping you'll fix someone else's program.
RenPy is just an addon needed for JoiPlay to run the game after all.
You must mean JoiPlay, RenPy is just an addon that lets you run the game.
Ask JoiPlay's forums, they sometimes release broken versions and it's up to them to fix their program, not a random indie game dev.
Best we can offer is to downgrade your JoiPlay to a working version, as this fellow offered.

Yeah, I shouldn't have followed this advice. If you are trying to update from an older version on joiplay, and you do that by installing the new download instead of patching it by holding the icon, it will delete all of your save files.
I'd appreciate not being blamed for your actions.
When you delete your old game folder, you delete the saves folder within.
Moving your saves to the new folder instead of deleting them would have been preferable.
Would have been great if you had said that instead of just saying "follow the instructions" when the only instructions provided will delete save files.

Did you install this on v0.15? Or v0.15.1? This seems to imply you didn't have v0.15 at all, and patched v0.14 to v0.16.
Previous file said .15 full.
.16 Patch files were added to data, as instructed and overwritten.
.16 full finished d/l'ing and it is starting normally.
Something is clearly different between the two.
FWIW, same thing happened for me, install was previously patched using the v0.14 -> v0.15 patch.
So aside from the rating, which I still think you've done a great job on the game.....
I do wish that there was a possibility to bring the Side characters and Autumn down to the dungeon... besides that I think you have a pretty solid adventurous slice of life harem series .

Now that you incorporate the City maybe you could make additional dates/outings there or even send out different characters to work side jobs?
also since there are other cities mentioned and even the Ascendants and Elves islands - maybe you could build a story line around opening up another hotel and it's intertwined somehow with it.
I would say this game out of most on here is very close to
" playing "an anime, because of the character story lines, the art style and the variety of circumstances - very good job so far. Can't wait to see more.

The Ascendants are based in Caliber, which should have been made clear. And you've been to Syl'iath (the elf islands) in Lin's story (where you met the High Elf Queen)
And thank you! When writing the story for HH I see each story event as like an episode in a season, and each arc like seasons in a show. These shows being each main character's storyline. Each of these "shows" are leading towards something bigger, like a "movie", where all the paths will connect for a while. I also take cinematic inspiration from movies and some anime with good cinematography. Eventually I want to add themed music to each/most events but that is a bigger undertaking.

When you're in the kitchen for Sylvia's event and the choice comes up, "hear her out" or "Leave," just seeing that option there, to walk away after that build-up... I bust out laughing! XD I couldn't stop. Don't even know why I found it so funny, but the instant I read "Leave" I laughed so hard!

Can you add Vietnamese to this game, Runey? I also study English but it's pretty much not enough to read the story's happenings fully. I quite enjoyed the plot but was hindered by the language. Just my own opinion
Since I only speak English it is up to volunteers. No one has offered to translate Harem Hotel into Vietnamese unfortunately.
Version 0.16 for Mac fails to start - it fills some debug text in TextEdit and closes.

It is less about consideration and more about people volunteering to translate over 500,000 words into their native language.
Two people are currently translating Harem Hotel into Chinese.
I do see many people translate their own language into their own mother tongue. What are the two people who translate Chinese? I saw in China that they put your works into a paid website for members to download after machine translation.

Odd event I came across in new version of game. When I click on Autumn's door on Thursday which is day 95 for me. It says "She is at work right now". But when I click on Maria's door and it starts her event. Autumn is with her.
I can fix this if I know Maria's level at the time of this bug.
Crap. I didn't know you needed that. Also, I'm at Corpus Cafe on a Sunday when Autumn is suppose to be at church. She's also treating the MC like she doesn't know him. I know it's Autumn, cause she told the same story about her and her sister working there after their parents built the cafe. Maybe I'm doing the whole game wrong and missing alot lol. I still enjoy the game though. I know you worked hard on this cause I'm a programmer.
I think you missed the part that said "WARNING: THESE SCENES ARE MEANT TO BE PLAYED AT THE VERY BEGINNING OF THE GAME" at the beginning of the explore content.
This is partially why I recommended a fresh save.
So I had to start the game completely over for this version? lol I guess I did missed that part since I like to continue a new version of a game where I saved from an older one. Sorry about that. It took me too long to get to day 100 :P
No, you don't have to start over. Those scenes are meant to be played at the beginning, so I recommend a fresh save.

More seriously though, Harem Hotel has not had an official apk since v0.12, as .apk has a limit of 2gB, which the game has long since surpassed, even at 90% compression.
Fan ultra compressions exist to bring it below that threshold and thus allow it to be an .apk, but it will have severely reduced image quality, especially as the game gets bigger with each update.
- I've just found out that moving the game files to SD card, saves aren't working and generating correctly. It may be an issue already on Joiplay.
- Retaining the game files to the main storage of a phone will make the saves work and generate.
- Anyway you could try to figure this out Mr. Runey because it's kinda big game and playing it from SD card would relieve my storage misery.
That's not something I have any control over.
We've known that's an issue for a while (one of our Discord members is waiting to get a phone with bigger storage because it doesn't function on SD card).
As Runey said though, he has no control over that.
Could be worth asking JoiPlay, but it may be a similar result.
Hummm, i play on android with the game at SD Card and my saves are storaged on Android/data/cyou.joiplay.renpy
If i remember correctly, when the Game is not on SDcard the saves goes directly to the game folder at "Saves"
Try moving those Saves to the Android directory from inside storage that i just mentiones.

Obedience and "Friendship" (Relationship Level as of v0.15) are different things, hinted by having different words.

a bug I encountered: Im not sure if this is just on Maria’s bartender outfit, but at some point in time I bought Maria’s bartender outfit, and it never showed up as purchased. I keep trying to purchase it again, but it just keeps saying “you just bought this item.”
Not a bug - if you buy it, it has been bought. When you buy things, it tells you to pick it up when it's delivered, which you get a second notification for when it does, usually the next morning.
