I know people love Ashley´s story and yes it actually is very touching but what about the other characters? It works correctly but it doesn't work everywhere, for example when we need to choose where we want to go and what to explore in the city, it reads some things and on most of them it is just silent, it is the same in the hotel when we want to choose where to go or when we are in a conversation with someone there is mostly no voice feedback from tts
Firstly, absolutely LOVE this game, no notes, keep up the amazing work. My main question is this: I haven't played since I did most of the content for v0.15, and I'm interested in starting a new save with the updated content. However, it looks like v0.19 is on the horizon. Might it be worth it to wait for .19 release, or just start a new save now with .18 and update later? I'd hate to miss any new or updated early game content with the upcoming release.

Harem Hotel is being actively written as you play. So it's impossible to know when the end will come. There is a direction and ending in mind, but everything in between is being written as you play it.
To be honest, the pregnancy content would change the story Severily for most of the girls, Lin would have an Ilegal child and remember she is legaly a runaway, Ashley would have to get her shit together. Maria, no more super spy, Kali (Cant thing on negatives). Android (Already has a child, so it doesn't count.) Felicity and Emma. STONEFACE! Autumn, not before marriage(?)
Curious what that extra spare room in the hotel will be used for. Not that an extra guest is impossible to implement, but I have a feeling it wont be used for a new character
One day I hope to! But Harem Hotel has many problems in the earlier parts of the story, both from a visual and story writing perspective. (The biggest issues I see right now is all of android’s story up to around level 25, and all of the dungeon content aside from F&E’s)
Once everything is on the same level of quality and the game is polished a ton more with things like themed music, then I will consider putting it on steam. This will probably be around v0.20 if I had to guess, it’s a lot of work to remake everything. (This is about the 5th time I’m redoing stuff now for some things)

I cant figure out how to use the game on joiplay, folloew the description but still can not figure it out head my head done in all night downloading deleting downloading lol on joiplay they is no plus symbol its just git save files which incant get past that point, on the other 1 is just dump files whillch none are playable
Good visual novel but a bit off for me since the Player played more of "supporting role" than actually matters to the plot of the story itself which bugs me a lot. lol. The girls/protagonist stories & characteristics are great. Just wish the Player story/action could be well written rather than just an attractive sugar daddy/chauffeur.
I've recently begun making the player's character play a more active role in talking and action itself. This will also reflect in any events that are remade, which there is quite a bit left to remake.
19.1 is available on the patreon, it cam out a few weeks ago. Also with all the animations this game has and the huge variety in them. Its going to take ungodly amounts of render time on them alone.
The game that started it all for me, was never big on the whole 3d thing but this was damn good. Altho - robbing me in the alleyway for helping the droid was bs.

I've been working my way through the adult section here on itch the last while, and I've been postponing trying this one for essentially arbitrary reasons, but now that I've finally worked my way through the entire storyline for all characters, there's honestly just one thing left to say:
This game is absolutely unbelievably good.
I've clocked over FOURTY HOURS in this game, and I just want more. The volume of content both in high quality storytelling with so many twists and turns, as well as the abundance of sexy high quality scenes is mindblowing.
Looking forward to following this game in the future!

Ellen and Moon in the hot springs is awesome. And the runaway elf makes me want to help but being at the brothel, how does the MC have a option on what to do?
In general I like this game, but the protagonist definitely has a personality I do not. Such as, I would never allow someone to push me down or act like they have dominated me, especially when they have been nothing but rude such as with Felicity. I also would not have tolerated Autumn and her constant judgement. It often times feels like the protagonist is more of a simp than anything else.
However the game does have a solid and well developed story that has been interesting to play through. There are times where the stories conflict each other which leads to some confusion (specifically I was at the place where "Android" secluded herself in her room, but while returning from the Alosi Queen she was out fighting the fairies, but still not able to be contacted.)
There are a fair amount of choice options in the game, but it feels like there should be more. Many times the character just blindly goes with what is being said instead of giving you an option of what you would rather do.
I like that the stories intertwine, but I would not have spoken to some of those characters unless I had to which was a major bummer. I wish you could progress the stories you like while ignoring the ones you don't.
I like that the game has an economy, and that it is reasonable, though I didn't learn how to use some of them until three quarters through the game when it didn't matter so much anymore.
I would like for the wait time feature to be a menu instead that asks how long you would like to wait instead of only skipping to the next time slot. As you get later into the content sometimes you just want to skip a whole day or two without the tedium of button pushing and waiting.
I know it probably sounds like I have more gripes than anything else, but I promise you that is how you know I care about something.
I actually heard about this game like two years ago, but it wasn't as developed back than, and I didn't find it here. I am glad that you came here and I would like to support the game, but do not have the ability to make a monthly commitment, so if you have a place for one time donations please let me know.
Story conflictions are hard to find, there are just so many possibilities for error, so I rely on players to report these issues. Thank you for bringing one to my attention.

oh, than I should probably also tell you that you can finish Felicity's story before Ashley so you can know who Stoneface is, and then suddenly have no idea who he is. Also in Maria's Story you can discover her secret, but be lagging behind in Hana's and Autumn's story so they act as if it never happened. there are a few others but I would have to play through again to remember.
Also, I think it would be cool if the brothel you helped open had a questline to gain control of and add more passive revenue for the hotel. I would also like to see Ellen as a main character instead of a side character, there is a lot of history and story there, the fact that she lives there, and her involvement in everything else just makes the decision for her to be on the side seem odd. I would also like to see upgrades for the hotel that allow you to change the atmosphere and theme for the hotel. these are of course suggestions, but if you want people to feel like it is there hotel this would be a good option yes?
Also many games like this have options in the beginning that ask people about the fetishes that they like and don't like which gives people the option to see content they want, while not seeing things they don't, I highly recommend something like that for this game as well.
But that is just it, the MC is us but also isn't us to that degree. From what I've seen, the MC has given the girls a lot of great advice when needed, and really want's what is best for them. He doesn't play favorites but is willing to fight for them with all he has got. A great example is Ashley, she came to the hotel with almost nothing. She can't afford to stay at the hotel, but the MC lets her stay because he loves her. At one point she thought the MC would leave her if he knew the real Ashley but he still let her stay and still loves her.
My only major gripe with this game is that the protagonist doesn't speak much at all when I feel he should be. It kind of makes some scenes feel like a one-sided conversation where the girls are rambling to themselves.
You make a good point. My goal is to make the player character a fill in for you, the player. Giving him a strong personality could contradict with the player's personality, or maybe he could say something the player wouldn't agree with. The protagonists are actually the girls, not the player, so these things are deliberate. However in the newest events I've decided to give him more of a voice. But he'll always be "the silent type" so that the player can fill the PC's shoes as much as possible.
well, see i did download it, but since i'm on android i cant really fully downloaded, i was trying to figure out how to get it extracted for like 3 hours but no matter what i did i couldn't figure it out, i used the guide you posted but it didn't help me enough ,i couldn't figure it out where i needed to put things or anything like that. just wanna try the game man
Having some issues recently, When I press escape or rmb the screen for saves, load, options etc does not appear. Pressing said buttons only hides the ui.the back button on the bottom left also just sends me to the city for some reason
Love the game, 2nd playthrough. I have read that it is possible to grow vegetables from the garden. I need to buy seed from the girl in the park, from what I understand.
The problem is that there is nothing there, everytime I try to go it says "I should come back another day". I've tried every day of the week, but always the same sentence ...
I just wanna say, well done. This game is amazingly well done. Can't wait for the next update, but no pressure take the time you need. You've done an incredible job at making every character interesting and likable in there own ways, especially impressed with Felicity and Emma acting like two different people since most writers tend to make similar types of characters act nearly identical. One question, can I transfer my Mac save to my Windows PC? Does that work?
Thank you so much! HH will only get better from here, as I'm constantly remaking old events to upgrade them to the same quality as the latest events. Some events are 6+ years old and are in dire need of an upgrade since I wasn't a great writer or artist back then.
Unfortunately I'm not sure if you're able to transfer saves between operating systems
Nothing in game costs anything close to that amount haha, but you should be upgrading the hotel to get passive income. Talk to Ellen about upgrades. The farm is a good place to start, and the bar will increase your passive income a lot.
That's fine, farming isn't a requirement. Buying the bar early is a very smart idea though, as it will gain you passive income as you're playing through the game.
Alternatively, there are cheat codes available on patreon.
Runey, long time no, well, chat. Been busy helping another adult game dev. My ideas have been a big help. 10 out of my 12 ideas are going in her game and I am the current (and only) android version tester for her. Things have been fun, and she is a great person. She releases an update for her game every week without fail, which makes my job a little challenging but also fun.
Thanks. It was a difficult start for me. She lives in Australia so she would take idea submissions on Sunday... which when submitting the idea I would be met with, "you missed the submission deadline" Had no idea why. Once we got our time zones figured out it was smooth sailing. My Sunday is her Monday.
The game is Cabin by the Lake. Also, for Runey, do Renpy games have a file size limit? Her game is starting to be an issue with the android emulator I use.
The size limit for android apk's is about 4gb I think, that might be the issue which is why we have to play the PC version of HH on android through joiplay app

Yes! All main characters get at least 1 new story event every update unless something gets in the way of that.

Renpy already has a self voicing screen reader, I have mistakenly turned it on sometimes so it works. It is toggled from keyboard with the key “v”.

Have you entered the farm? Click the gate in the garden. Then upgrade the garden beds to the max.

MAC version has up to now been released at the same time as all other versions. I see no reason why this would change.

Biggest example of this would be Ashley's cowgirl scene with Maria. There wasn't a word of dialogue spoken by the protag during this scene.

Are you playing the 0.18.2 version of the game?
Have you upgraded the hotel with growable garden? Have you visited the garden plot behind the garden?

I just wanna say, well done. This game is amazingly well done. Can't wait for the next update, but no pressure take the time you need. You've done an incredible job at making every character interesting and likable in there own ways, especially impressed with Felicity and Emma acting like two different people since most writers tend to make similar types of characters act nearly identical. One question, can I transfer my Mac save to my Windows PC? Does that work?
Thank you so much! HH will only get better from here, as I'm constantly remaking old events to upgrade them to the same quality as the latest events. Some events are 6+ years old and are in dire need of an upgrade since I wasn't a great writer or artist back then.
Unfortunately I'm not sure if you're able to transfer saves between operating systems
RenPy documentation tells saves use Python pickle system to save the game state. So my guess is cross platform saves should work.

Nothing in game costs anything close to that amount haha, but you should be upgrading the hotel to get passive income. Talk to Ellen about upgrades. The farm is a good place to start, and the bar will increase your passive income a lot.

That's fine, farming isn't a requirement. Buying the bar early is a very smart idea though, as it will gain you passive income as you're playing through the game.
Alternatively, there are cheat codes available on patreon.

Runey, long time no, well, chat. Been busy helping another adult game dev. My ideas have been a big help. 10 out of my 12 ideas are going in her game and I am the current (and only) android version tester for her. Things have been fun, and she is a great person. She releases an update for her game every week without fail, which makes my job a little challenging but also fun.

Thanks. It was a difficult start for me. She lives in Australia so she would take idea submissions on Sunday... which when submitting the idea I would be met with, "you missed the submission deadline" Had no idea why. Once we got our time zones figured out it was smooth sailing. My Sunday is her Monday.

The game is Cabin by the Lake. Also, for Runey, do Renpy games have a file size limit? Her game is starting to be an issue with the android emulator I use.
The size limit for android apk's is about 4gb I think, that might be the issue which is why we have to play the PC version of HH on android through joiplay app
