That version is not the latest in the sense of final version, the game development continues and next version is planned to be released in a weeks time. You can read about that by scrolling down, developer discussed this a week ago.

Great game really. The story is truly touching, much more than I spected. All characters are really profound and interesting.
There's a few isues tho. First, some of the stories conect weirdly, like some characters that shoudn't be avaliable at that point (for whatever reason, like the android when she gets inside her room and doesn't wanna come out, yet she can apear in other characters cutscenes).
Some of the early xxx scenes are a bit rough. I guess the creator got better at making them along the way, and I think It might be a good idea to go back and remake some of the old ones.
Lastly, some of the side characters are to interesting to be so left aside. I hope they become main characters at some points (I love kate). Either way, I'd like more repetible scenes with them, I't would be cool if you could revisit the old scenes. Could even use the scenes allready in the game.
As I said, I really liked the game. I understand that not everything is posible and that this is a low budget project, so no hard fellings. Except for the order on which the stories come, that's a shame (I didn't understood the stoneface reveal at first, because I hadn't completed Asley's story).

This is not the final version of the game. It may be it is not possible in this state of the game to completely prevent events connecting weirdly when some planned events are not yet in the game.
The game has a lot of content and side plots with many characters. It does get very complicated when what happens with one character affects the event of another character. Making sure the events can not happen in wrong order takes a lot of work.

I remember that was discussed previously, and my recollection is HH did work on iPad with some emulator or some such. On Mac computer HH works natively.

Small issue about the sequence of the story events
It is possible to advance Emma & Felicity's story quite a bit without doing Ashley's quest to search for Ren.
As such, there's a weird break in continuity where you can get the Stoneface reveal before any of the buildup through Ashley's story, and before his name is even mentioned in the story.
I was very confused by Felicity and Emma's story because of this, and only understood what when wrong when I finally got around to advance Ashley's quests and learned about Stoneface properly.
Hey man, i tried downloading the game a few times but everytime i extract it, it ends up saying "extracted with some unknown errors" and when i add the game to joiplay, it wont start up. Is there a reason or am i messing up something. Its also for android if that helps
Can I ask my android version recently encountered a bug where I can't open the game anymore no matter what so I've been thinking of redownloading the game when the update comes out but can I just download the update directly? Or do I have to delete my current ver and then transfer my saves onto the updated ver because updating the game might not fix the issue
If you play on Android, there are update instructions on Wiki FAQ page and more info in Discord FAQ channel.
On Android you have to store the save files before starting the update, and copy them back afterwards.
You might try the same copying of save files and install the same version you now have, that might fix the issue. If it does not, it may be upgrading to new version won’t fix it either.

I do not know spanish, but tested just now new game on Linux and HH version 0.18.2. The Quick Guide was in English. That should be translated, it is important information.
It seems dialogs are in spanish, but for example Ellen asks “What’s your name?” like that, in english.

It looks to me the Spanish translation is indeed a bit spotty. Some dialog lines are suddenly in English. If the reason player chooses spanish is he/she knows no English, the localization is somewhat bad. It may be a technical issue with RenPy, translator sees the dialog and translates that but other texts in the game keep the english text. Perhaps the translation teams can say something about this. Are the short of manpower? Do they need proofreaders? Is RenPy support for localization inadequate?
I played one day in game, quite a lot of localization errors. I do not know Spanish, I just looked at the text and if it looked like Spanish it was OK.
I understand that in the game on Windows, not everyone knows English and many parts of the game are translated into Spanish, but as I mentioned, others are not, and that takes away immersion since it's impossible to follow certain stories. I hope for a possible review in the future. Thank you, and keep working hard; the game is a marvel.
v0.19 has been complete, all that is left to do is fix all the bugs and polish it. I'll be adding music and remaking old content while the beta testers do their thing.
I am currently playing at mission 41 of Lin and i gonna say, she made me feel complete but the more i progressed, the story will be much less happy. It's really heavy as it supposed to be but i do wish to see more hope in the v0.19. Until then a very good with good character and story thank you so much for ur work
Each character goes through themed story arcs with breaks in between. This naturally means a build up, a peak, and a come-down. Lin in v0.18 and v0.19 is at the peak of her current story arc.
It's not uncommon for me to hear "There's too much drama right now, when will we get slice of life". But some seem to forget that they are actively witnessing me writing a story. We're not going to stay in the height of the current arc forever!
Don't worry though, catharsis is an important feeling for me.
v0.19 will most likely enter the Pre-Release phase tomorrow, if I finish this event I'm currently working on in time. This means v0.19 will be finished and play tested before it's available to everyone (to ensure there are no bugs and everyone likes the content). I will also be remaking the oldest events in better quality during this time.
The public release will always be available 12 days after the Pre-Release launches.

With Harem Hotel you never have to consider losing your saves. You can delete all of the game's files and resume your save years later if you would like. This is because saves are stored in %appdata%. So after updating, simply click "Continue"
i can't access the park or get any seeds for the garden on my playthrough. i imagine i'm supposed to click the ??? when in the residential area but it doesn't do anything. i have the garden set up with the plots open for plants, and i even had the greenhouse but i still can't get the park to show up. when i click "visit the ???" it just says "i should keep exploring" then takes me to old town. is there something i'm missing? is this because i didn't start a new game?
ah, i didn't revisit the bowling bar. i swear last time i tried it said i had hit the end of the content there. everything else in town says i reached the end of the content. i loaded back to try it out since i'm currently in the middle of an ashley event, and the bowling bar started a conversation with someone. so after this event i'm hoping doing that will open up the park.
i continued my save from v0.16.2 and i've completed just about everything from this update i've found besides the garden
Hey, Runey. Since v19 is close to being ready, did you ever manage to figure out that bug I mentioned? The one from Lin's lvl 13 level up event, where she triggers the "yes or no" anal prompt, and how if you say no it still gives her a point in it instead of perma-blocking it like the others. I would check elsewhere, but IDK if you have a discord or a known bugs list in said hypothetical discord. So I've checked here once in a while to see. Hope i'm not nagging you or anything, though. I can imagine a stream of "Hey! Listen! Remember that one bug I've told you about like 3 times now? and have been casually mentioning once every few months?" Is probably rather aggravating. (Bro I feel like Rani from Zelda, NGL) as a final note, good luck on the censorship war, I'm hoping we all get through this without too many hiccups

There has not been a new release of the game since you first mentioned that bug. It might have been fixed, those who are running the beta test versions would know.

Voices don't matter in the fight. It's already over, and you're right, Patreon is next. So what do you plan to do? Will you still complete the game, or will the project have to end? You've done a remarkable job, but of course we all have bills to pay. No matter what, of the AVN industry, HH is legend. If you do have to end it, my suggestion is to share your roadmap for what could have been, just post the rest of the story for your diehard fans so that everyone can get closure.

There is a point in the story like that. But it is not a deadlock, it is possible to get an event that allows continuing. Game tries to give hints on what to do next.
Continue with the girls that do have an event you can start, eventually you get to a point where you can continue with Android, Autumn and Lin.

Keep it up it's hard to find a game like this with a great story eager to see how things will play out not gonna spoil anything but it gets better and better I've replayed several times
last version i played was 0.15 or so, tried to play some more in 0.17.2. but didnt finish that one.
every harem game is the same in concept, the player is exposed to emotional or psychological damage, repeatedly, but is incentivized to keep engaging with it in hopes of it paying off later with good scenes and a story. this game is no different.
i had a fun time with the game, outside of some events that happen because they hit too close to home so to speak. that is, until i encountered one specific part of the game, after which i played for a short while more and then stopped playing it because the game's developer demonstrated clearly enough what he thinks of anyone with specific beliefs who recognizes that despite having beliefs of their own, there are times when setting those beliefs aside has more value because something superordinate else is at risk.
fighting the power, so to speak, is what makes an rpg's story compelling, though it depends on what lenghts the developers go to, to establish said power. but this isnt an rpg, this is a harem game, and the “power” can be condensed down to the balding, fat, unkempt man shouting

the player engages in rebuilding a nationalism movement for elves, trying to convince all sides that elves have learned from their past mistakes and that their race should be preserved, that their culture, beliefs and the like are worth preserving. its curious then, that the very similar real-life movement that is about nationalism resurgence, persevering of a race's culture and restoring its own belief in itself, is inverted in this game. from maga to msga.
this is the only time when i will offer you, the developer, what you havent offered me, the anonymous player of your work. a nuanced approach. i would appeal you to rethink the mockery you added to the game which is otherwise fine, but, chances are you really like what you've done there.
Harem Hotel speaks about a lot of political issues. Slavery and freedom from it is a big theme after all. Kali's Dad is a mayor, Autumn's dad is a Minister, Lin is a slave, you as the player are an immigrant, and someone else's father is planning to run for the President of Syl'anar. (spoilers though, won't say who, but he's also an immigrant)
Honestly I think it would be quite hard to goon to this game considering how story dense it is. That's one long edge sesh.

1. You called someone whose only character is to support slavery, be a bigot, and someone for everyone to laugh at, as being the only person who recognizes nuance. You're basically watching Herbet from Family Guy and saying "Well he's the only person with a nuanced perspective on pedophilia." No, these are bad people with bad beliefs used for comic relief. If you truly relate to the ideals of the characters I've written to be horrible people, you may need to do some reflection. Just my opinion though.
The "Caucasians" (specifically the colonists, who were not all white by the way) of this game took direct inspiration from the colonists of america, australia, and south africa. Colonists in HH are acting like colonists in the real world. They are not "Acting like muslims or africans"
2. The protagonists are not supporting a nationalist party of elves. The nationalist movement of elves would be the High Elves, who hold the same beliefs of these colonists, but for elves. Elvish superiority over human superiority. The thing is, they're also your enemy. They're also the bad guys. They would enslave humans if they could. Nia even started with some idea that humans are lesser beings because of what they did to her, but after getting to know you, she adopts Lin's ideals of equality and equity over ultra-nationalism. Lin doesn't even believe borders should exist. So how you got to the conclusion that the player and the harem are supporting an elvish nationalist movement really boggles my mind. There are no "past mistakes of the elves." They didn't do much except defend themselves from invaders (colonists). But look, if you're just a patriot, and you enjoy your community and its people, that's awesome! That's not nationalism though.
Elves are also not a race of humanity. You can think of them sort of as we see homo-erectus or neanderthals. Elves would be homo-sylius. A separate but equal genome of the homo genus with enough differences to be considered separate species. Humans (not just "caucasians") are doing the same to elves as humans did to neanderthals. Kill, rape, merge. (This isn't shown in game, but is implied to have happened)
I am not breaking the 4th wall by criticizing ultra-nationalism, that's not what that means, by definition. You've essentially stated that because Bob's Burgers has burgers in it, it broke the 4th wall. Both things can exist in fiction and reality. The purpose of the criticism of ultra-nationalism is to make you think and possibly offer you a different perspective.
World history and geopolitics are massive interests of mine and it shows in game. The idea of a "nation" only took prominent hold in our world because of Germany in WW1 (A precursor being Napleon's French Empire.) Nationalism is a very new ideology and one I critique a lot, but specifically ultra-nationalism. In short they promoted the idea that specific people belong to their nation over the idea of a community of people working together, and that the people who do not belong to the nation should leave so that there are more opportunities for the nation's people. In Harem Hotel, this means working elves until they're dead and extinct, even though it was their land to begin with.

I need some help downloading the game, I go as far as clicking the + on joiplay and getting to the picture, I've tried 10 times, 9 times joiplay crashed, and the one time it didn't absolutely nothing popped up on the joiplay plugin, or on my phone, joiplay closed and took me back to RAR with me still unable to play the game , what am I doing wrong?
Hard to say. I have not used v0.19 yet since it is not published. It is a beta version now, so may have game breaking bugs that prevent some events from happening.
Anyway, if you have access to unreleased beta versions, you can access beta channel on Discord where you can ask about beta version issues and bugs.
Been following this game for so long now and when there an new update i always reply the entire game that's how much i enjoy this masterpiece, hoping for the new update coming out soon.

I was very confused by Felicity and Emma's story because of this, and only understood what when wrong when I finally got around to advance Ashley's quests and learned about Stoneface properly.
Hey man, i tried downloading the game a few times but everytime i extract it, it ends up saying "extracted with some unknown errors" and when i add the game to joiplay, it wont start up. Is there a reason or am i messing up something. Its also for android if that helps

If you play on Android, there are update instructions on Wiki FAQ page and more info in Discord FAQ channel.
On Android you have to store the save files before starting the update, and copy them back afterwards.
You might try the same copying of save files and install the same version you now have, that might fix the issue. If it does not, it may be upgrading to new version won’t fix it either.

I do not know spanish, but tested just now new game on Linux and HH version 0.18.2. The Quick Guide was in English. That should be translated, it is important information.
It seems dialogs are in spanish, but for example Ellen asks “What’s your name?” like that, in english.
Some things are not in spanish:
Top of screen shows date as Sun Noon, so in English. The main menu is in English.
Exploring Caliber -popup is in English.
Droid police says suddenly in English: “Under transparency clause 5 I am obligated …”
Managers computer runs in English. The Sylanar map is in spanish except Syl’tin and Equaton.
It looks to me the Spanish translation is indeed a bit spotty. Some dialog lines are suddenly in English. If the reason player chooses spanish is he/she knows no English, the localization is somewhat bad. It may be a technical issue with RenPy, translator sees the dialog and translates that but other texts in the game keep the english text. Perhaps the translation teams can say something about this. Are the short of manpower? Do they need proofreaders? Is RenPy support for localization inadequate?
I played one day in game, quite a lot of localization errors. I do not know Spanish, I just looked at the text and if it looked like Spanish it was OK.
I understand that in the game on Windows, not everyone knows English and many parts of the game are translated into Spanish, but as I mentioned, others are not, and that takes away immersion since it's impossible to follow certain stories. I hope for a possible review in the future. Thank you, and keep working hard; the game is a marvel.

I am currently playing at mission 41 of Lin and i gonna say, she made me feel complete but the more i progressed, the story will be much less happy. It's really heavy as it supposed to be but i do wish to see more hope in the v0.19. Until then a very good with good character and story thank you so much for ur work
Each character goes through themed story arcs with breaks in between. This naturally means a build up, a peak, and a come-down. Lin in v0.18 and v0.19 is at the peak of her current story arc.
It's not uncommon for me to hear "There's too much drama right now, when will we get slice of life". But some seem to forget that they are actively witnessing me writing a story. We're not going to stay in the height of the current arc forever!
Don't worry though, catharsis is an important feeling for me.

v0.19 will most likely enter the Pre-Release phase tomorrow, if I finish this event I'm currently working on in time. This means v0.19 will be finished and play tested before it's available to everyone (to ensure there are no bugs and everyone likes the content). I will also be remaking the oldest events in better quality during this time.
The public release will always be available 12 days after the Pre-Release launches.

With Harem Hotel you never have to consider losing your saves. You can delete all of the game's files and resume your save years later if you would like. This is because saves are stored in %appdata%. So after updating, simply click "Continue"
i can't access the park or get any seeds for the garden on my playthrough. i imagine i'm supposed to click the ??? when in the residential area but it doesn't do anything. i have the garden set up with the plots open for plants, and i even had the greenhouse but i still can't get the park to show up. when i click "visit the ???" it just says "i should keep exploring" then takes me to old town. is there something i'm missing? is this because i didn't start a new game?

ah, i didn't revisit the bowling bar. i swear last time i tried it said i had hit the end of the content there. everything else in town says i reached the end of the content. i loaded back to try it out since i'm currently in the middle of an ashley event, and the bowling bar started a conversation with someone. so after this event i'm hoping doing that will open up the park.

Hey, Runey. Since v19 is close to being ready, did you ever manage to figure out that bug I mentioned? The one from Lin's lvl 13 level up event, where she triggers the "yes or no" anal prompt, and how if you say no it still gives her a point in it instead of perma-blocking it like the others. I would check elsewhere, but IDK if you have a discord or a known bugs list in said hypothetical discord. So I've checked here once in a while to see. Hope i'm not nagging you or anything, though. I can imagine a stream of "Hey! Listen! Remember that one bug I've told you about like 3 times now? and have been casually mentioning once every few months?" Is probably rather aggravating. (Bro I feel like Rani from Zelda, NGL) as a final note, good luck on the censorship war, I'm hoping we all get through this without too many hiccups

There is a point in the story like that. But it is not a deadlock, it is possible to get an event that allows continuing. Game tries to give hints on what to do next.
Continue with the girls that do have an event you can start, eventually you get to a point where you can continue with Android, Autumn and Lin.

(spoilers though, won't say who, but he's also an immigrant)

1. You called someone whose only character is to support slavery, be a bigot, and someone for everyone to laugh at, as being the only person who recognizes nuance. You're basically watching Herbet from Family Guy and saying "Well he's the only person with a nuanced perspective on pedophilia." No, these are bad people with bad beliefs used for comic relief. If you truly relate to the ideals of the characters I've written to be horrible people, you may need to do some reflection. Just my opinion though.
The "Caucasians" (specifically the colonists, who were not all white by the way) of this game took direct inspiration from the colonists of america, australia, and south africa. Colonists in HH are acting like colonists in the real world. They are not "Acting like muslims or africans"
2. The protagonists are not supporting a nationalist party of elves. The nationalist movement of elves would be the High Elves, who hold the same beliefs of these colonists, but for elves. Elvish superiority over human superiority. The thing is, they're also your enemy. They're also the bad guys. They would enslave humans if they could. Nia even started with some idea that humans are lesser beings because of what they did to her, but after getting to know you, she adopts Lin's ideals of equality and equity over ultra-nationalism. Lin doesn't even believe borders should exist. So how you got to the conclusion that the player and the harem are supporting an elvish nationalist movement really boggles my mind. There are no "past mistakes of the elves." They didn't do much except defend themselves from invaders (colonists). But look, if you're just a patriot, and you enjoy your community and its people, that's awesome! That's not nationalism though.
Elves are also not a race of humanity. You can think of them sort of as we see homo-erectus or neanderthals. Elves would be homo-sylius. A separate but equal genome of the homo genus with enough differences to be considered separate species. Humans (not just "caucasians") are doing the same to elves as humans did to neanderthals. Kill, rape, merge. (This isn't shown in game, but is implied to have happened)
I am not breaking the 4th wall by criticizing ultra-nationalism, that's not what that means, by definition. You've essentially stated that because Bob's Burgers has burgers in it, it broke the 4th wall. Both things can exist in fiction and reality. The purpose of the criticism of ultra-nationalism is to make you think and possibly offer you a different perspective.
World history and geopolitics are massive interests of mine and it shows in game. The idea of a "nation" only took prominent hold in our world because of Germany in WW1 (A precursor being Napleon's French Empire.) Nationalism is a very new ideology and one I critique a lot, but specifically ultra-nationalism. In short they promoted the idea that specific people belong to their nation over the idea of a community of people working together, and that the people who do not belong to the nation should leave so that there are more opportunities for the nation's people. In Harem Hotel, this means working elves until they're dead and extinct, even though it was their land to begin with.

Hard to say. I have not used v0.19 yet since it is not published. It is a beta version now, so may have game breaking bugs that prevent some events from happening.
Anyway, if you have access to unreleased beta versions, you can access beta channel on Discord where you can ask about beta version issues and bugs.
