Hey Runey, I really love your work and Harem Hotel. A couple of years ago, I played your game—it was actually my first AVN—and now, after the latest update, I’m excited to dive back in. I wanted to play on JoiPlay on my tablet like recommended, but when I do, the text box can’t be adjusted, and there’s this huge black bar that blocks a lot of the screen, which is kinda annoying. Not sure if there’s a way around it! Anyway, big support from me, as always!
The issue is that the dialogue box UI can’t be changed when switching from classic to black transparent, etc., it still stays the same unfortunately. It’s not a big deal, I just wanted to let you know!

A GRANT arbiter is somebody who arranges grants. according to rules and regulations.
Presumably, given that he is something like their Pope-equivalent, he should be the granD arbiter.
Probably capitalized, too, since it's a title.
Edit: also, all instances of "The Capitol" should probably be find-replaced with "Capitol City". The capitol is, by definition, either a building or a hill.

long awaited update, looks great...started a new game, no fun using old saves...but I got an error when I try to enter the beach, and can't access it at all. so far the only glitch I've seen...great work with the game as always
So, I've done Lin's new content and now the city is locked down. However, Jin needs some gardening tools and idk how to get them now? Am I gonna just have to go back to a previous save or wait for .20 or .21? Also, Ashley still has an "!" that won't go away. I think that's unrelated, but its also bugging me.
Yes, you will be locked out of the Explore content for some time. Jin and the garden content are early game content, but that content was just recently added and you're probably on an old save as well, so it's an awkward situation for you.
Depending on how v0.20's story goes, I may just let you buy garden supplies online.
Ash is lvl 44. And it would be awesome to be able to buy the supplies online. This was a completely new save, so I sort of "speed ran" to get to the new content. skipped a lot of exploring and now I'm kicking myself
Yeah, this situation will only happen if you kinda try to make it happen. But if this has the opportunity to effect gameplay too much I will certainly make some changes. It's also possible that it's only locked after this one event, so it may not be an issue in the future at all.
Great game. So far i played (and loved) Dating My Daughter and Sisterly Lust, but HH is taking it to the next level with more girls, stories and an RPG-system. It sometimes feels a bit grindy because there's no clue where the (soft-)cap of stats are, but i still enjoy it. I downloaded it for free, but after so much fun i'll donate soon for you hard work.
Edit: Can i somehow one time donate instead of a subscription on Patreon?
garden.rpa is not part of the files in the update patch, and the morning call to garden_daily_stuff fails on an updated version of the game, as the function signature is different in the old garden.rpa.
This suggests that garden.rpa should be part of the patch.
I redownloaded the 0.18.2 patch and the file seems to be the same *as 0.19*. I may have been playing on the original 0.18 update (which, in my old zip, has a smaller size).
Updating that file from the full download fixed the issue, though it would have been enough to use the much smaller 0.18.2 patch.
Runey you know how much I love HH and you too of course, you are one of the best, most hard working devs… but isn’t it time to polish sex scene texts now? MC doesn’t speak at all or do anything than to put his dick inside. A game like Harem Hotel deserves more in that department too in my opinion. I never worked with Renpy so I don’t know if it requires you to rebuild the scenes but if possible maybe adding some additional dialogue to existing content and future ones would be cool. You could add some spicy lines for him maybe. Right now he’s like “ok come, fucks, bye” most of the time. And another thing is maybe adding some small scenes/lines for sleep-together? Do they really just sleep the second they get in the bed lmao. These are just mere suggestions though like I said I love the game already and will keep supporting it either way 😋
Hey rwsan, the sex dialogue could certainly be improved, I think it's fairly generic, and repeatables could certainly benefit from differing dialogue. It's one of the harder things to do because... what do I write other than "Oooh, ahh, yes"? There's only so much possible variety in sex that's meant to be repeatable. The visuals are meant to shine here, but I understand the desire for dirty talk. If you have any ideas, I'm all ears.
These additions and changes at the beginning are managing to fix what I considered the biggest problem of this work, the protagonist, I always hated the protagonist of this look he was insensitive, degenerate and without personality, practically a sex robot, the game in the future was gradually improving making him more sympathetic, he finally started to show that he liked the girls, helping them to care about their well-being, and being more human, I'm replaying and the additions and changes are great, there are still many scenes of the robotic protagonist, but the new ones are already a good restructuring for the protagonist.
I have a problem, i did everything it said on how to play on android but I'm stuck in this loading screen and the game won't load no matter how much i wait

There are a lot of cheat codes available to patrons for this, but there are other options as well. You could edit the levels of each character manually through the console, or ask for a save on the discord server. A lot of people have luck with that.
Perhaps one of the best porn games I've ever played, the real Goat, been playing it since it came out and I will continue playing it until it is finished and I have 100% completed it. I love every character and every story beat. These devs, they know how to cook!
Replaying the game again after 5 years, I just wanted to say I love the story and how it's turning out. There's alot of social commentary and similarities to how stuff happens in real life nowadays. In particular I really like Lin and Android/Pixel stories.
Android's story even made me think about life a little, and I had to redefine what love and consciousness mean for myself. Then there's also the ideas of AI reproduction and the cyberspace which were both really cool and even theoretically possible too using current technology like blockchain for cyberspace.
All in all I'm hyped for v0.20 and thank you for working on it all these years!

The game keeps crashing, giving me "An exception has occurred" almost all the time. Once I entered my room, even clicking on "ignore" won't help. Any solutions?

Seems Itch App does not allow downloading from third party sites. Error message is “This title is hosted on an incompatible third-party website”. Game can be downloaded manually from the Download links on game Itch page.

For updating this game you need to download the game or the patch file from links on this page (under the Download -heading) or links on Patreon or Subscribestar.

I lost my save game. Just went to check out 0.19 and realised I have to start from the beginning. I saw online there are cheats to jump to the end of the story from the last update point, but they don't work :(
Are you sure save files are lost? They are stored in two places (at least on Windows, Linux and Mac), check from Discord channel FAQ where they are stored on your platform.
Where did you get those cheat codes?
Normally to get cheat codes one becomes a supporter on Patreon or Subcribestar.
How did you lose your save? This usually happens when someone attempts to transfer the game files from one drive to another. Saves are stored in %appdata% not the game's files. So your saves may still be on your old drive.
There may be some v0.18 saves available on discord if you would like to ask there. Someone is usually willing to give away their save.
Any publicly available cheats will not work as they'll get updated as soon as they leak.

Would hate to lose all that and have to start completely fresh.
Backup save files first. You can then copy them back if for some reason continuing from where you left the old version fails to work. Discord channel FAQ shows save file location by platform.
Shown error makes me suspect you use Itch App? If so, read FAQ page in wiki, there is explanation for why app does not work.

Certainly looks like an error related to the itch app to me. Try clicking on the links available in the v0.19 Patch Notes post on this page. The mega or mediafire links.
Soooo I'm guessing I have to start over again? My saves get an error message or whatever... and uh I really don't like the idea of having to do everything... all over again.
Game can continue from where you left the previous version. Unless the saves are messed up. Using cheat codes can break the save so it does not work in next version.
You do not say on what platform you play. Wiki has FAQ page and Discord has FAQ channel.
If you can find out what the whatever error message is, you can try showing that.
In rare cases it's possible that you last saved in an incompatible location within in the script when loading the update. This is usually a harmless glitch with renpy, clicking "Ignore" until you're able to play should work.

That black bar can be adjusted in the Options. The “Dialogue UI”.
Pressing “H” -key hides the UI completely. It comes back with another press of the same key.

Thank you! The soft cap for a stat is when you unlock its trait. Which is usually 10.
Yes, you can donate any amount and cancel it at any time.

The garden wasn't updated in v0.19, so it didn't need to be included in the patch. This is the first time I've heard of that bug.
The garden.rpa I have, which has a size of 175.349.985 bytes, has the following definition:
def garden_daily_stuff(garden, day):
Which is called in scripts.rpa as:
garden_daily_stuff(GARDEN, day, should_jin_meddle)
I don't know at which point this was changed, but it worked fine in 0.18.2.
My 0.18 patch zip was downloaded on 2024-10-13.
The garden.rpa file in the full download has a size of 215.225.914 bytes.

The garden wasn't touched at all in v0.19. A full reinstall should fix that bug, as it seems to be client side.
In v0.18.0 garden.rpa is 168 MBytes. In v0.18.1 it is 206 MBytes.
It seems to me OP had version 0.18.0 patched to 0.19, and so ended up with that older version of garden.rpa, like OP suggested.
It should be made clear the patch “HH v0.18+ > v0.19.1 PC Patch” must have HH 0.18.2 as base.

For download methods, google drive offers 15GB of free storage per account, and it has decent download speed. I would recommend this.

No grinding is necessary, most of the income you earn is passive so you can focus on the game, but there are ways to speed it up.
The farm is a great way to earn money in the early game. But by far the best money maker is a fully upgraded bar.

There is no cheating/NTR in the game anywhere. The closest thing to it is being able to fuck a drunk divorced mother at your bar.

What version are you playing?
Please show the error, copy and paste the text or screenshot.
It's almost impossible to help you without more information than it crashed. That exception will tell me what happened and how to fix it.
v0.19.1 probably fixed it though, make sure you're on the latest version.
Which tasks do you mean? It would help to know the location or button you're attempting to click
Does the waitress have a name?
What relationship level are Jin and the waitress?
I do not recall a task with Jin and some waitress.

Is there a specific button you're trying to click? If you're trying to advance Jin's level, it would help to know what level she currently is.
Question, do we need to redownload the game once an update drops?
There is patch file, it is much smaller than the whole game download.
Wiki has FAQ page, it has some info on updating.
why does it keep saying that the game is hosted on a third party website? cant update the game cant update many games

i am using the app, am i supposed to be using something else? do they not have they're own launcher or do i gotta use the website to get all my games to run?

Seems Itch App does not allow downloading from third party sites. Error message is “This title is hosted on an incompatible third-party website”. Game can be downloaded manually from the Download links on game Itch page.
Game can also be downloaded from Patreon and Subscribestar.

I lost my save game. Just went to check out 0.19 and realised I have to start from the beginning. I saw online there are cheats to jump to the end of the story from the last update point, but they don't work :(

Can you restore the save files from backup?
Are you sure save files are lost? They are stored in two places (at least on Windows, Linux and Mac), check from Discord channel FAQ where they are stored on your platform.
Where did you get those cheat codes?
Normally to get cheat codes one becomes a supporter on Patreon or Subcribestar.
How did you lose your save? This usually happens when someone attempts to transfer the game files from one drive to another. Saves are stored in %appdata% not the game's files. So your saves may still be on your old drive.
There may be some v0.18 saves available on discord if you would like to ask there. Someone is usually willing to give away their save.
Any publicly available cheats will not work as they'll get updated as soon as they leak.

I can't update the game. I get this...

200 hours into the game. Would hate to lose all that and have to start completely fresh. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Backup save files first. You can then copy them back if for some reason continuing from where you left the old version fails to work. Discord channel FAQ shows save file location by platform.
Shown error makes me suspect you use Itch App? If so, read FAQ page in wiki, there is explanation for why app does not work.

Certainly looks like an error related to the itch app to me. Try clicking on the links available in the v0.19 Patch Notes post on this page. The mega or mediafire links.

Yeah, it is the Itch app. It seems to do things like this every other month. This was just a new one for me.
Soooo I'm guessing I have to start over again? My saves get an error message or whatever... and uh I really don't like the idea of having to do everything... all over again.
Game can continue from where you left the previous version. Unless the saves are messed up. Using cheat codes can break the save so it does not work in next version.
You do not say on what platform you play. Wiki has FAQ page and Discord has FAQ channel.
If you can find out what the whatever error message is, you can try showing that.
In rare cases it's possible that you last saved in an incompatible location within in the script when loading the update. This is usually a harmless glitch with renpy, clicking "Ignore" until you're able to play should work.
