I have not developed games with Renpy, but I know it uses Python code. In python 2 (which Renpy 7 uses) integer type is processor word size, which nowadays usually is 64 bit. There is data type long, which should always be at least 64 bits.

In Python 3 which Renpy 8 uses, integer type is unlimited. When game is ported to that new Renpy version you can have unlimited amount of money!

So I would like to say I LOVE the game the dialogue and characters all feel fleshed out especially Ashley’s story line I really like that one but in my opinion there should be more city exploration I started the game and got I liked going to the slums because I thought we were gonna be able to have connections with the gang that’s there since we gave that man the drugs but overall 10/10 game came for the goon came back for the story

While AVNs are widely seen as having lewd content as a main thing, there are some, few of them, which are truly gems from every point of view, and Harem Hotel is one of them. As a writer with 6 published books, I was astonished by the plot twists and the crazy - in a good way - ideas that Runey is offering us, and I have to admit that I was on my toes while playing this game - fourth time, that is.
I am not going to give any spoilers; however, it's amazing how the Dev was able to give every character it's own personality in a way that you can almost feel them with you, understand hem and empathize with them... even shed a tear with them. Placing normal people in a futuristic environment allowed the dev to imagine some twisted situations which are blowing your mind, but the huge achievement is the realistic actions and reactions of every character, according to its personality. This is one of the aspects that separates Harem Hotel from the countless other AVNs - it is NOT a graphic novel where people (or other creatures) are fucking each other's brains out, but a complete life story, which is very hard to achieve by using 3D renders and text, but Runey is doing it at a level that clearly shows that this dude (or dudette, haha!!) have a special talent many AVN author would love to have.
Let me be clear: I'm into lewd stuff like the the next guy, but it needs to be in a context which is believable, like I pound this woman because I love her, not because my dick is craving for any possible hole. The Dev is doing exactly this: is giving you, as the player, a reason for everything. I was playing this game with my wife, and she was in tears when the characters suffered, and that tells a lot... the bitch is not a sissy, I can tell you THAT, haha!
Earning my cash from 3D projects, I am able to look on the renders with a bit of critical eye, and let me tell you this, Runey: you, Sir (or Ma'am) are good. Not only on writing an astonishing story, but from the graphic point of view as well. The way you optimized the graphic, the camera positioning, the lighting, the focus, they are very good, not to mention the small details that give each and every character the unique traits that define them in the story context. As a published writer, I can tell you this: you're good, really good. When I'm working on a book, the toughest part is to build the whole context in order to give the reader the feeling of credibility and continuity, I'm sure you know what I mean. You're doing it, and you're doing it really well. In fact, I can see a whole book based on your AVN.
As a man born and raised in a normal world, I am a bit annoyed by the terms „they” and „them” given to certain characters, but I guess it's because of the need to be „politically correct”... which I am not. For me, a Man is something with a dick sticking in a pussy, that's it - to put it in a „lewd” and stupid way. I don't mean to offend anyone with this, but it's too late to change my way of thinking now, haha! You cannot teach an old horse to do tricks...
To summarize, Harem Hotel is one of the best AVN I play - and I am really picky, trust me - and I really hope you will get the support you deserve, Dev!

I've completed all the content up to the patch, it's all very good and all and Runey is a super talented writer and dev. however it's mentioning the fact i've completed all the content (as in the message from Runey) nearly every interaction with anything (doors characters etc most dialogues end/start with the thank you message)

I think the thing that bother me te most for now is that fact that android keep switching back and forth from phase one to phase 2 and vice versa .. i prefer phase 2 but she's always in phase 1 in the hotel .. also i have a suggestion.. would you consider adding a trans into the pool of character? She could be an Elf that they try to transform into the ultimate sex/maid or something and even an other android . Thanks for the game runey and cant wait for the next uptade

I try to only include things I'm very interested in within HH, it helps avoid burnout and keeps me motivated to create. I don't always strictly stick to this rule, I love to make the players happy, but this is why there hasn't been much queer content. However the situation you brought up does sort of happen at The Beach.
You provide very little information, I can not guess what could be wrong. Just pressing the Download button works for me. Developers Patreon page has the download links too, you could try there but they should be the very same links.
If you have another PC you can use, download there and transfer to your PC using memory stick or other portable storage.
Hey Runey! I just wanted to say what an amazing game you have so far! Like most I came for the... fun... but stayed for the story. Being someone who has gone through some trauma younger, I found myself deeply connected to a few of the main characters. I wasn't expecting to cry for some of these scene's... That's for sure.

tried a fix for the error with the garden when going to sleep that a commenter suggested, replaced my garden.rpa file with the one from the 18.2 update. just getting a new error now
EDIT: just realised its probably v18.rpa, gonna try replacing that too
Strange errors. I can only suggest, like developer wrote originally, to download the full v0.19.1 zip and extract it to a new directory. Then try starting that and see if these strange errors disappear.
That should get a fully working game, unless files have been modified or cheat codes have been used to mess up the old saves.
after completing lins new story event you cant explore the city anymore because its on lockdown. i never did the new events around the city before this so is there any way i can do them now? or do i just have to reload a save
Because all explore content is early game content designed to introduce you to this world, it is intended that you will lose access to it after a certain point. Any story content from the city will be lost if you decide not to do it by this point in the story, as it would not make much sense. But the explore content is planned to return with a whole new set of events, re-introducing you to a world that has changed.

If you just want to continue from where you last played the game, that works without cheat codes. The old save should work and you can continue. To be sure, make a save in main characters room and continue from that in the new install. If you play on Android, see Discord channel FAQ on how to copy save files.

I actually realized something that works easily if you have your previous save in your system. It's worked with every RenPy game I've played. What you do is:
Step 1: Open the old version's folder, and enter the "game" folder.
Step 2: Copy the "saves" folder in the old version's "game" folder.
Step 3: Open the new version's "game" folder.
Step 4: Paste the "saves" folder into the new version's "game" folder.
Only on Android is it necessary to copy save files.
On other platforms the save/ -folder contains copies of the save files that are store elsewhere. On Windows it is %APPDATA%, on Linux ~/.renpy/Harem\ Hotel-<random-number>/, on Mac something similar that I do not remember. All versions of game use that same place.
Installing new version of game to a new directory and loading save file from old version should just work.
I have to say that I'm enjoying this game more than expected and it's because of the world building and the characters are very compelling. I love the idea for the new update since it currently feels a lot more like an apartment rather than a hotel. Please tell me that fourth room on the second floor will eventually be filled by a new main character? Eris maybe. I would also love some more Kate, Nia, and Sylivia. Anyways, keep it up. I'm looking forward to the update
Thanks for the question, the next update is currently being worked on. I unfortunately had a very brutal bilateral ear infection which caused both of my ears to explode and deafened me for two months, so that knocked me out a bit, but work is being done!
Ah this one, this seems to be a very odd and specific bug. You should only need a full fresh install to fix this. One of your scripts may have been corrupted during an update.
I think that bug happens when version v0.18.0 or v0.18.1 is patced to v0.19.1 with HH v0.18+ > v0.19.1 PC Patch
It still says above on this page that patch applies to v0.18.0 or later, but it only works for patching v0.18.2 to v0.19.1.
For original poster: If my guess is correct, you can fix your setup by getting the HH v0.17+ > v0.18.2 PC Patch and copying only the garden.rpa file from that. Or installing the full v0.19.1 like developer suggested, but that is 13GB download instead of 1GB.
Things like growing pumpkins to make pumpkin pie or even with the addition of hotel guests you can stockpile ingredients for a food menu. Or perhaps growing spices and other toppings to enhance meals for guests, Or maybe make jams

Seems Itch App does not allow downloading from third party sites. Error message is “This title is hosted on an incompatible third-party website”. Game can be downloaded manually from the Download links on game Itch page.

Hi, whenever I play, I like to use the money cheat, but I changed devices and my game was deleted. I downloaded it again and it tells me that the cheat is invalid. Is it still the same or did they change it?
And to be honest, you can have great fun in this game without using cheats. The bar and garden make decent money and I love replaying the game when I finish it.
Hey there, I have a question. Ive been playing this for a while now (patch 0.12? dunno, when Autumn only had 1 chapter), but I believe I have a bug happening.
When I bought Lin's sister, she had her addiction going on. I know I could have had sex with her and all, but I opted to have her go cold turkey. However, after that her dialogue has been entirely the same through all the updates; I talk to her, ask how shes doing, and shes hanging in there. Nothing else. No other available actions either. Yet her story currently is on 5/9, and I havent been able to make any progress on this.
hell, on playing it yesterday I accidentally hovered over that tiny gate and noticed you can go to a new area. Didnt even know about that damn garden since I thought the ONLY part of the garden was the place with the pillows. Well... more chapters to go then :D
actually, uh... since I finished Lin's story, the city is now permanently under lockdown, so I cant go into the city to buy utilities/seeds and advance Jin's story/the garden's passive income.
Kind of strange how everything is restored in order to continue playing the game, but the lockdown is permanent until the next update <.<
I'm troubled with the direction you're taking the android. being so naive with life and her social skills just doesn't feel right. with the access she has to the internet she should be able to master any social interaction, read into any social situation. hell, she could be a therapist, a doctor, a master of all trades. she would know bragging and showing off would be the wrong way to go. she could understand every awkward situation and avoid it. she could easily be the life of any party. i feel you made her character weaker than she should have been when she could have been your strongest and most supportive. the one everyone went to for support, advice and encouragement. i love your game and i'm not saying i have all the answers with how you should tell your story. it just seems weird making her so smart and so dumb.
oh yeah, plexiglass insulated circuitry with double aluminum or copper plating is EMP proof. all of our military equipment has it. you can also protect against lightning, tasers, even solar flares. she could have the sociology degree of Maria only better, the computer skills of Kali only better, the vigilantism of Nia only better. a beautiful, sexy spy/super hero of perfection.

When it boils down to it, Android is a human in a (mostly) metal body. But how do I explain that she has human issues when she's capable of much more? It's tough, but this is how she works:
She is a very new soul, still discovering how the world works. She has all the capabilities of an adult if an adult was dropped in a completely unfamiliar environment and had to learn everything from the start again. Nothing in our reality comes natural to her, so she must discover what reality is. And her whole world has been the hotel, and the people in it. Naturally her first priority would be to protect them and interact with them. Protection is easy, it's a science, but socializing is an art, and that's what she struggles with specifically. Anyone with autism like myself knows that these things don't come so naturally to us, and it's almost impossible to learn how to be social from someone else, you have to actually practice it and discover what works.
Android absolutely has the capability to do all of the things you mentioned, she would just need to practice or download the information, of which she has limited storage. So she must prioritize the memories and feelings of her loved ones.
Regarding her EMP protection, most of her parts especially early on are ancient technology in the context of this universe. It's 30+ years old. But you're right, that is totally a possibility, and a great idea for an upgrade.

Verify what version you are playing. I think there was that kind of bug in v0.19.0, which was fixed in v0.19.1.

Are you sure you have more than 13 GBytes free space on the device? Can you download successfully from somewhere else?
Perhaps show screenshot of the failed download, that might give clues on what is wrong.

You provide very little information, I can not guess what could be wrong. Just pressing the Download button works for me. Developers Patreon page has the download links too, you could try there but they should be the very same links.
If you have another PC you can use, download there and transfer to your PC using memory stick or other portable storage.

Hey Runey! I just wanted to say what an amazing game you have so far! Like most I came for the... fun... but stayed for the story. Being someone who has gone through some trauma younger, I found myself deeply connected to a few of the main characters. I wasn't expecting to cry for some of these scene's... That's for sure.

Strange errors. I can only suggest, like developer wrote originally, to download the full v0.19.1 zip and extract it to a new directory. Then try starting that and see if these strange errors disappear.
That should get a fully working game, unless files have been modified or cheat codes have been used to mess up the old saves.

after completing lins new story event you cant explore the city anymore because its on lockdown. i never did the new events around the city before this so is there any way i can do them now? or do i just have to reload a save
Because all explore content is early game content designed to introduce you to this world, it is intended that you will lose access to it after a certain point. Any story content from the city will be lost if you decide not to do it by this point in the story, as it would not make much sense. But the explore content is planned to return with a whole new set of events, re-introducing you to a world that has changed.

If you just want to continue from where you last played the game, that works without cheat codes. The old save should work and you can continue. To be sure, make a save in main characters room and continue from that in the new install. If you play on Android, see Discord channel FAQ on how to copy save files.

I actually realized something that works easily if you have your previous save in your system. It's worked with every RenPy game I've played. What you do is:
Step 1: Open the old version's folder, and enter the "game" folder.
Step 2: Copy the "saves" folder in the old version's "game" folder.
Step 3: Open the new version's "game" folder.
Step 4: Paste the "saves" folder into the new version's "game" folder.
Only on Android is it necessary to copy save files.
On other platforms the save/ -folder contains copies of the save files that are store elsewhere. On Windows it is %APPDATA%, on Linux ~/.renpy/Harem\ Hotel-<random-number>/, on Mac something similar that I do not remember. All versions of game use that same place.
Installing new version of game to a new directory and loading save file from old version should just work.
I have to say that I'm enjoying this game more than expected and it's because of the world building and the characters are very compelling. I love the idea for the new update since it currently feels a lot more like an apartment rather than a hotel. Please tell me that fourth room on the second floor will eventually be filled by a new main character? Eris maybe. I would also love some more Kate, Nia, and Sylivia. Anyways, keep it up. I'm looking forward to the update

Thanks for the question, the next update is currently being worked on. I unfortunately had a very brutal bilateral ear infection which caused both of my ears to explode and deafened me for two months, so that knocked me out a bit, but work is being done!

Ah this one, this seems to be a very odd and specific bug. You should only need a full fresh install to fix this. One of your scripts may have been corrupted during an update.
I think that bug happens when version v0.18.0 or v0.18.1 is patced to v0.19.1 with HH v0.18+ > v0.19.1 PC Patch
It still says above on this page that patch applies to v0.18.0 or later, but it only works for patching v0.18.2 to v0.19.1.
For original poster: If my guess is correct, you can fix your setup by getting the HH v0.17+ > v0.18.2 PC Patch and copying only the garden.rpa file from that. Or installing the full v0.19.1 like developer suggested, but that is 13GB download instead of 1GB.

And to be honest, you can have great fun in this game without using cheats. The bar and garden make decent money and I love replaying the game when I finish it.
How do I progress after I've fully upgraded the garden? The wiki says I can buy tools and seeds in the Park but the city is under lockdown.
In that case you can’t, not until next version.
Game warns to not start last event for Lin until all other activities are completed. The Lin event causes the lockdown.
You could go to a save before that last Lin event starts, then you can go to garden supply seller.

Are you stumped by the riddles Kate asks? She has quite a lot of riddles, so hard to say.
The Wiki page for Kate has answers to the hard riddles. But if you think hard enough you can figure out the answers by the responses Kate says.

Hey there, I have a question. Ive been playing this for a while now (patch 0.12? dunno, when Autumn only had 1 chapter), but I believe I have a bug happening.
When I bought Lin's sister, she had her addiction going on. I know I could have had sex with her and all, but I opted to have her go cold turkey. However, after that her dialogue has been entirely the same through all the updates; I talk to her, ask how shes doing, and shes hanging in there. Nothing else. No other available actions either. Yet her story currently is on 5/9, and I havent been able to make any progress on this.

hell, on playing it yesterday I accidentally hovered over that tiny gate and noticed you can go to a new area. Didnt even know about that damn garden since I thought the ONLY part of the garden was the place with the pillows. Well... more chapters to go then :D
actually, uh... since I finished Lin's story, the city is now permanently under lockdown, so I cant go into the city to buy utilities/seeds and advance Jin's story/the garden's passive income.
Kind of strange how everything is restored in order to continue playing the game, but the lockdown is permanent until the next update <.<

I'm troubled with the direction you're taking the android. being so naive with life and her social skills just doesn't feel right. with the access she has to the internet she should be able to master any social interaction, read into any social situation. hell, she could be a therapist, a doctor, a master of all trades. she would know bragging and showing off would be the wrong way to go. she could understand every awkward situation and avoid it. she could easily be the life of any party. i feel you made her character weaker than she should have been when she could have been your strongest and most supportive. the one everyone went to for support, advice and encouragement. i love your game and i'm not saying i have all the answers with how you should tell your story. it just seems weird making her so smart and so dumb.
oh yeah, plexiglass insulated circuitry with double aluminum or copper plating is EMP proof. all of our military equipment has it. you can also protect against lightning, tasers, even solar flares. she could have the sociology degree of Maria only better, the computer skills of Kali only better, the vigilantism of Nia only better. a beautiful, sexy spy/super hero of perfection.
Great points, I would love to explain, but the goal is that it should be clear in game.
When it boils down to it, Android is a human in a (mostly) metal body. But how do I explain that she has human issues when she's capable of much more? It's tough, but this is how she works:
She is a very new soul, still discovering how the world works. She has all the capabilities of an adult if an adult was dropped in a completely unfamiliar environment and had to learn everything from the start again. Nothing in our reality comes natural to her, so she must discover what reality is. And her whole world has been the hotel, and the people in it. Naturally her first priority would be to protect them and interact with them. Protection is easy, it's a science, but socializing is an art, and that's what she struggles with specifically. Anyone with autism like myself knows that these things don't come so naturally to us, and it's almost impossible to learn how to be social from someone else, you have to actually practice it and discover what works.
Android absolutely has the capability to do all of the things you mentioned, she would just need to practice or download the information, of which she has limited storage. So she must prioritize the memories and feelings of her loved ones.
Regarding her EMP protection, most of her parts especially early on are ancient technology in the context of this universe. It's 30+ years old. But you're right, that is totally a possibility, and a great idea for an upgrade.
