Just a quick note on a note on a possible bug. If you give Lin the vibrator in the kitchen and don't take it out and the day progresses and she leaves the kitchen, you lose the ability to use the vibrator again. You can't buy it or remove it from her. I fixed it by modifying my save file, and removed it from her the next morning, while she was in the kitchen.

Yes. When I used it, it was afternoon, and I told her to leave it in and then the day switched to evening. So I waited until the next morning to talk to Lin again and the option to remove the vibe wasn't available nor could I use it anymore. I went to my room and checked to see if I could buy it again from the online store, but I couldn't. So, if the day progresses and Lin leaves the kitchen, without you removing the vibe, the vibrator option goes away. I saved the game during the morning phase, so I could modify the savefile so Lin was wearing the vibrator again, and then when I reloaded the savefile, I could remove the vibrator from Lin and afterwards, the option worked normally.
So... I guess in brief, if Lin is wearing the vibe and you fail to remove it before afternoon changes to evening, the flag is set as if she isn't wearing the vibe anymore, but the flag for you using the vibe on her is still set, so they conflict. So you can no longer use it nor remove it from her. That's why I had to modify the savefile.
Hey Runey! I'm on my third play through of the game since trying it around two years ago, and it's great to see all the progress you've made. The game is seriously impressive and you should be proud!
That being said, I've encountered what I think is a strange bug with the garden. I build the base garden extension (when the option to plant first appears) and planted potatoes. I soon realized I could then build the greenhouse and decided to do so. My first minor complaint is that this locks me out of checking the plants, as it tells you the area is under construction; but the important part is that I seem to have soft locked the garden somehow. The countdown until the upgrade is finished is acting very strange, as it sometimes fails to show up at all and even completely reset on me. I've waited over two weeks in game, and it still hasn't finished. I've also had a few error screens that appear to relate to the garden and the failure to retrieve a garden object (Sorry if this sounds dumb, I know very little about coding). I've been just selecting "rollback" as I have on past versions, on the rare occasion something like this has happened, and while the game doesn't feed me another error it doesn't seem to fix the issue either. If it occurs again, I will copy the error text so you don't have to try and decipher my layman description.
[SPOILERS AHEAD] Another factor that might be important is that I got a few forced events during the upgrade time. From what I remember, they were Ashley's event involving pills, Lin's event involving three masked elves, and the Ashley's mother event involving oral with Ashley. Hopefully those descriptions make sense, trying to keep it vague as to avoid outright spoilers for other readers.
I hope at least some of that information was useful. For now, I'm reverting to an older save before the purchase to see if I can get around the bug that way. Can't wait to see what else you come up with in the future! Good luck, and thank you for all your hard work!
When you upgrade the garden, you should be notified that your plants will die in the upgrade. I know it doesn't make a lot of real world sense because it's not even touching the plants, but I didn't bother to spend the extra time to make content for an accessible garden plus an under construction greenhouse.
If you played Beta 3 of v0.18, that in-development build was buggy and cause this permanent bug to be present. You may need to restart your save.
Hey there, thanks for the reply! I must have overlooked the message about plants dying during the upgrade. No big deal either way. As for the build I'm playing on, it's the release version of v.18. I downloaded the game in its entirety after the official drop using the mirror link. Since resetting back to a pre-garden save, I've yet to encounter the problem again, though I've yet to attempt the upgrade again. When I get around to it, I'll make note if the error occurs again, along with a proper capture of the error message. Thank you for your time!
i found a bug i think well with the android story at the point where u go to the hot springs rel lv 16 to level the reletionship up u can pick another option but u need exibiotion and for that to get higher the slut stat and for that to get higher the relationship as u cant do any events otherwisewith the android
You should be able to "train" her exhibition level at this point, I did it not too long ago and was able to get the trait. Go to her room when she is not working "Knock on the door" and not "talk" option, than one of lower options should have (+exhibition) on it, pick it and than in the scene you have to pick last option "lewd", it will rise the stat, do that 10 times, get the trait and option will be unlocked.

But now I need some help. I played a bit of this game a couple years ago and I decided to play it again. Everything was just fine but now I'm stuck. Maria just won't work at the bar. I read a few comments here of people who didn't buy her maid outfit, I thought this was the problem but nope, still not working. When I go to the bar it says that I must return near closing time but nothing happens. I unlocked every bar upgrade possible, trained Moon and still nothing happens. Maria is already level 32, she returned from the "hospital" and I don't think there's anything available, even though there's an exclamation mark near her info page. I also tried looking at the save file because I saw some people here saying their nia_alert00 was set to 1 instead of 0 and I mine is already at 0. Is there any solution available or do I have to restart the game? I'm afraid that I might restart the game and Maria will be glitched again.
To get her to work in the bar, you need to buy her bartender outfit and give it to her. You have to wait for her to get back to the hotel to give it to her.
I already bought and gave it to her (after I noticed the glitch, because she didn't ask before like it happened when I first played a couple years ago). Also, she already returned to the hotel after she was arrested in the hospital. I really have no idea what to do. Is there something I can do with a save editor to fix that? I don't mind losing the part of the story where she starts working at the bar since I played before and I am playing again to see what's new
Oh, and I also have an issue with Jin and the garden. I built all the upgrades available and still I don't see her anywhere except for Lin's bedroom. There's no-one in the greenhouse btw. (I can call her to the dungeon too, but I don't think that has anything to do with it because I already completed every submission event available)

Yes, if anything the story has a lot of unexpected turns and surprises. The most unexpected thing was Maria for me. I really didn't see this comming and it almost broke me heart. I also look forward to "change the world". This is going to be huge and I guess Autumn and Hazel may be involved in some of that change.
The political stance of some characters isn't yet that clear to me, so that's also going to be interesting, especially Kali's dad and Cornwall.

Harem Hotel is an adult visual novel, what you're describing as a grind is reading through their stories.
As it tells you at the beginning of the game through tips, which you seem to have ignored, stats do not progress the story. They unlock side content.
You also seemed to have rushed to the sex content, which is not this game's focus, and ignored all of the ways to gain money. Such as through deliveries, the bar, the garden, and so on. This game is quite easy if you read what's going on, and holds your hand so that even someone 4 blunts in can easily progress.
Maria doesn't want to be creampied early in the story. She doesn't hate you, you just don't seem to be reading what's going on. If you want a quick nut, pornhub is available.
And yes, that's correct, you typically cannot take women out on dates at 2AM, even in the real world. Cafes and bowling alleys are typically closed during these times. But their legs may not be.

I'm trying to get to level 6 for Jin in v.18. I've completed every other character except for lucy and waited multiple days for an event. Am I missing anything?

I seem to have a bug where I can only sleep with Lin or Android, I know that I'm right before...well I guess a lot of different stories are intertwined, but the bug happens before I do the competition with Cornwall, and before Pixel tricks Autumn into giving me handjobs
This probably isn't a bug. It's probably just that you can't sleep with others due to the other's story. Their circumstances are preventing you to sleep with them due to recent events. If this isn't the case, please provide more details so I can look into it
So I downloaded this game just being bored and horny thinking it was gonna be very basic, generic storyline with a ton of gratuitous sex scenes. Which there's nothing wrong with that, that's the point of many similar games.
That said, dude...when it comes to character development, world building and story telling, this is easily one of the best games I've ever played, especially given the limited budget. The foundational idea was very simple and straight forward. Hotel manager that bangs a bunch of hot girls. And yet that simple premise spiraled into this incredible world of politics, nuance, personal growth, love and so on.
Like this game very quickly went from me meeting new and hot characters who's stats I wanted to quickly build up to unlock the sex scenes to me doing a full reversal and often rushing through sex scenes just so I can get to the next plot point and continue the story. I'm sitting here often more interested in reading up on the history and lore of the different elven races or the religion or the politics or next point in each character's story than I am in the sex. Not that I don't enjoy that too, but as someone who has been working on my own fantasy world with extensive lore for over a decade, this is fucking impressive.
I think if I had any complaints at all it's how tedious and boring it is to try to make money, particularly in the early game. Like I understand that your not intended to get super wealthy immediately, but due to the relatively high costs of some things vs the insanely lore amount of money that can be made early game I was not at all enjoying grinding through the first few weeks in game for money just to barely be able to scrape by on paying for certain items and events. If it weren't for me looking up the cheat codes for money that aspect of the game might have been enough to turn me off as the activities to actively make money are just repetitive and tedious to go through. The game already has a truly insane amount of content that is very good on its own without unnecessarily lengthening the game that much with the tedious grind.
Aside from that I can't really complain too much about the limited gameplay mechanics. There's times I wished for a bit more freedom, like actually being able to play Texas Hold'em and potentially "win" that event by doing that, but honestly it's not really that big a deal considering the type of game it is. That would be cool, but also not really necessary.
Overall the story, world building and character development more than makes up for any of the tinier complaints. I never thought I would be this thoroughly invested in this type of game for the story, but playing through this in often literally on the edge of my seat in anticipation for what comes next. Awesome job man, can't wait to see more!

Regarding money management, there are many ways to make extra income, such as with the Explore content, the newly added farmable garden, and the bar, which is the best way to gain passive income for the long run. To ensure everything is balanced I've played through the game's early parts and focused on how the average player might gain income over time. So long as you don't buy every toy and outfit when you have the opportunity to, and put some focus into building wealth with the bar, you should never seriously have to worry about cash.
I would recommend when you restart, use the small money cheat a couple of times so you don't start as a broke hotel manager :) Once you have the bar up and running, doing delivery jobs and the bowling challenge on the weekend will give you quite a boost and doesn't take too long. The garden is also great, but you have to be careful to not forget it when you focus on the story ;) Plants also require some of your love.
I have a small doubt, I play the game in Spanish... and although I know that in the last updates the game was not translated, even a certain part of the game is perfectly translated, but now when playing a new game I do notice that everything The story of Android is untranslated when I remember having played it in Spanish at the time, is it my mistake? thank you!
I'm having an issue getting Kali past level 30. Ive checked the wiki, didnt see anything there, she has most of the traits, is there a trigger im missing?
You may be experiencing a very old bug from a save that is years old. When was the last time you played this save? The easiest solution, though not the only solution, is to restart your save. Which I highly recommend with v0.18
In the showers, you can click anywhere on screen and it will return to the vestibule area. No other room acts this way, you have to click the arrow in the lower left corner to return to the previous room. Could the arrow behavior be made more consistent across all rooms? The showers should not exit the room until the arrow is clicked.
This background image of the floor in the hot springs keeps moving between lines of text. Felicity says something, then it changes when Emma replies, then it stays for a couple lines, then it changes again. It's not "water moving", it's clearly just the background image is not aligned the same between the lines, but I cant think of any reason for the image to shift at all in this scenario.

It did ask for multiple options like "Roll Back, Ignore, Quit etc."
After I clicked Ignore it did continue the game; but i don't know whether it was the right thing to do or the error occurred due to any past event which i might have not completed yet or so . will update if i encounter any other error in future
This error seems to only come from those who have played Beta 3 of v0.18, a private release only meant for those testing. Those who are testing a Beta know that playing a Beta has a chance to completely ruin your save. So they create backups. In your case you may need to abandon this save.
Hey Runey, thanks for the latest update. I never thought I would ever see myself type the following, but I find myself missing Felicity :). That aside I have one question. I am trying to ask this without spoiling so bear with me. The blackmail premise that was used to extract a certain daughter was incorrect, was it not? At the time all the slaves were legally owned? Or am I wrong?
I have been playing the 0.18 version from the start and got the Garden upgrade, and then tried to get the crops area done, it started but it has been near 21 days since and still not completed. Every time I try to open the gate it says it's not ready and I go to Ellen and click break ground and she says it's already in progress. I am not sure if something broke or not, but I need money and the bar isn't providing as much.
I believe I figured out the issue. Sleeping with someone does not progress the days or give me my mail. But sleeping by myself seems to forward everything. Strange.
The pregnancy fetish especially catches my attention... obviously not with the content that it will bring to the game, that is totally obvious... but I am curious to know if it is something that will happen in the final updates but you know what you are going to implement or if it is something that you will include in an update where you want the story of X character to go in that direction... and not be exactly the end of the story. If you read this, Runey, thank you very much for your work and I hope that your life is going better after recovering from what happened. THANK YOU!
GDrive has a daily use limit. The other link has the same files, so it's just an overactive anti-virus. Mega has a 10GB download limit, HH is too big for that. I cannot upload it directly to itch.io for a few weeks yet.

the game has a lot of dialogue, which is a problem when the story is not interesting.... but that's NOT the case here! I really don't skip any dialogues because it's so well made, and the amount of content really surprised me. definitely one of the best of the genre
I skip dialogue all the time. This game is pretty decent but im waiting till it becomes possible to get the ladies opregnant. At least Lin. SHe desrves the world since she is prolly the sweetest one in th egame.

where do you get seeds from? i have the greenhouse and level 2 plant beds, but i cant find where to get seeds from
You have to talk to the farmer girl in the park. If you don't have that unlocked yet, spend more time exploring the city.

i found a bug i think well with the android story at the point where u go to the hot springs rel lv 16 to level the reletionship up u can pick another option but u need exibiotion and for that to get higher the slut stat and for that to get higher the relationship as u cant do any events otherwisewith the android
You should be able to "train" her exhibition level at this point, I did it not too long ago and was able to get the trait. Go to her room when she is not working "Knock on the door" and not "talk" option, than one of lower options should have (+exhibition) on it, pick it and than in the scene you have to pick last option "lewd", it will rise the stat, do that 10 times, get the trait and option will be unlocked.

But now I need some help. I played a bit of this game a couple years ago and I decided to play it again. Everything was just fine but now I'm stuck. Maria just won't work at the bar. I read a few comments here of people who didn't buy her maid outfit, I thought this was the problem but nope, still not working. When I go to the bar it says that I must return near closing time but nothing happens. I unlocked every bar upgrade possible, trained Moon and still nothing happens.
Maria is already level 32, she returned from the "hospital" and I don't think there's anything available, even though there's an exclamation mark near her info page.
I also tried looking at the save file because I saw some people here saying their nia_alert00 was set to 1 instead of 0 and I mine is already at 0.
Is there any solution available or do I have to restart the game? I'm afraid that I might restart the game and Maria will be glitched again.
To get her to work in the bar, you need to buy her bartender outfit and give it to her. You have to wait for her to get back to the hotel to give it to her.
I already bought and gave it to her (after I noticed the glitch, because she didn't ask before like it happened when I first played a couple years ago). Also, she already returned to the hotel after she was arrested in the hospital. I really have no idea what to do. Is there something I can do with a save editor to fix that? I don't mind losing the part of the story where she starts working at the bar since I played before and I am playing again to see what's new
Oh, and I also have an issue with Jin and the garden. I built all the upgrades available and still I don't see her anywhere except for Lin's bedroom. There's no-one in the greenhouse btw. (I can call her to the dungeon too, but I don't think that has anything to do with it because I already completed every submission event available)

Yes, if anything the story has a lot of unexpected turns and surprises. The most unexpected thing was Maria for me. I really didn't see this comming and it almost broke me heart. I also look forward to "change the world". This is going to be huge and I guess Autumn and Hazel may be involved in some of that change.
The political stance of some characters isn't yet that clear to me, so that's also going to be interesting, especially Kali's dad and Cornwall.

Harem Hotel is an adult visual novel, what you're describing as a grind is reading through their stories.
As it tells you at the beginning of the game through tips, which you seem to have ignored, stats do not progress the story. They unlock side content.
You also seemed to have rushed to the sex content, which is not this game's focus, and ignored all of the ways to gain money. Such as through deliveries, the bar, the garden, and so on. This game is quite easy if you read what's going on, and holds your hand so that even someone 4 blunts in can easily progress.
Maria doesn't want to be creampied early in the story. She doesn't hate you, you just don't seem to be reading what's going on. If you want a quick nut, pornhub is available.
And yes, that's correct, you typically cannot take women out on dates at 2AM, even in the real world. Cafes and bowling alleys are typically closed during these times. But their legs may not be.

Hello! Manager is a self insert, so he is meant to be open ended for you to fill his shoes. Violet was a fan creation, I didn't write any of her content, she has very little to do with my work.

To get Jin to level 6+, you must continue upgrading the garden. Upgrades to the hotel can be found at Ellen's desk.

As RocketF mentioned, you need to find the farmable garden, clear it, and upgrade it to advance Jin's story passed that level.
I seem to have a bug where I can only sleep with Lin or Android, I know that I'm right before...well I guess a lot of different stories are intertwined, but the bug happens before I do the competition with Cornwall, and before Pixel tricks Autumn into giving me handjobs
This probably isn't a bug. It's probably just that you can't sleep with others due to the other's story. Their circumstances are preventing you to sleep with them due to recent events. If this isn't the case, please provide more details so I can look into it
So I downloaded this game just being bored and horny thinking it was gonna be very basic, generic storyline with a ton of gratuitous sex scenes. Which there's nothing wrong with that, that's the point of many similar games.
That said, dude...when it comes to character development, world building and story telling, this is easily one of the best games I've ever played, especially given the limited budget. The foundational idea was very simple and straight forward. Hotel manager that bangs a bunch of hot girls. And yet that simple premise spiraled into this incredible world of politics, nuance, personal growth, love and so on.
Like this game very quickly went from me meeting new and hot characters who's stats I wanted to quickly build up to unlock the sex scenes to me doing a full reversal and often rushing through sex scenes just so I can get to the next plot point and continue the story. I'm sitting here often more interested in reading up on the history and lore of the different elven races or the religion or the politics or next point in each character's story than I am in the sex. Not that I don't enjoy that too, but as someone who has been working on my own fantasy world with extensive lore for over a decade, this is fucking impressive.
I think if I had any complaints at all it's how tedious and boring it is to try to make money, particularly in the early game. Like I understand that your not intended to get super wealthy immediately, but due to the relatively high costs of some things vs the insanely lore amount of money that can be made early game I was not at all enjoying grinding through the first few weeks in game for money just to barely be able to scrape by on paying for certain items and events. If it weren't for me looking up the cheat codes for money that aspect of the game might have been enough to turn me off as the activities to actively make money are just repetitive and tedious to go through. The game already has a truly insane amount of content that is very good on its own without unnecessarily lengthening the game that much with the tedious grind.
Aside from that I can't really complain too much about the limited gameplay mechanics. There's times I wished for a bit more freedom, like actually being able to play Texas Hold'em and potentially "win" that event by doing that, but honestly it's not really that big a deal considering the type of game it is. That would be cool, but also not really necessary.
Overall the story, world building and character development more than makes up for any of the tinier complaints. I never thought I would be this thoroughly invested in this type of game for the story, but playing through this in often literally on the edge of my seat in anticipation for what comes next. Awesome job man, can't wait to see more!

Regarding money management, there are many ways to make extra income, such as with the Explore content, the newly added farmable garden, and the bar, which is the best way to gain passive income for the long run. To ensure everything is balanced I've played through the game's early parts and focused on how the average player might gain income over time. So long as you don't buy every toy and outfit when you have the opportunity to, and put some focus into building wealth with the bar, you should never seriously have to worry about cash.
I would recommend when you restart, use the small money cheat a couple of times so you don't start as a broke hotel manager :) Once you have the bar up and running, doing delivery jobs and the bowling challenge on the weekend will give you quite a boost and doesn't take too long. The garden is also great, but you have to be careful to not forget it when you focus on the story ;) Plants also require some of your love.

Traits and stats don't do anything to progress the story. They just unlock more of that content, as the game sees you enjoy that content.
To advance Kali's level, click on her door in the morning.

You may be experiencing a very old bug from a save that is years old. When was the last time you played this save? The easiest solution, though not the only solution, is to restart your save. Which I highly recommend with v0.18

It’s a bug from the latest update where for some reason Felicity’s most recent event removed her from both options.

In the showers, you can click anywhere on screen and it will return to the vestibule area. No other room acts this way, you have to click the arrow in the lower left corner to return to the previous room. Could the arrow behavior be made more consistent across all rooms? The showers should not exit the room until the arrow is clicked.
This background image of the floor in the hot springs keeps moving between lines of text. Felicity says something, then it changes when Emma replies, then it stays for a couple lines, then it changes again. It's not "water moving", it's clearly just the background image is not aligned the same between the lines, but I cant think of any reason for the image to shift at all in this scenario.
Note the left edge of the images
The water in the engine I use just acts really strange, sometimes there's not a good work-around

It did ask for multiple options like "Roll Back, Ignore, Quit etc."
After I clicked Ignore it did continue the game; but i don't know whether it was the right thing to do or the error occurred due to any past event which i might have not completed yet or so . will update if i encounter any other error in future

This error seems to only come from those who have played Beta 3 of v0.18, a private release only meant for those testing. Those who are testing a Beta know that playing a Beta has a chance to completely ruin your save. So they create backups. In your case you may need to abandon this save.

MC doesn't have a license to own elves. Lin was inherited, and the rest of the documents were either forged or used his dead grandfather's license.

I have been playing the 0.18 version from the start and got the Garden upgrade, and then tried to get the crops area done, it started but it has been near 21 days since and still not completed. Every time I try to open the gate it says it's not ready and I go to Ellen and click break ground and she says it's already in progress. I am not sure if something broke or not, but I need money and the bar isn't providing as much.
I believe I figured out the issue. Sleeping with someone does not progress the days or give me my mail. But sleeping by myself seems to forward everything. Strange.
Everytime stuff gets interesting you get "You completed X's main story". Man that hurts. Now we wait a year for another update.

GDrive has a daily use limit. The other link has the same files, so it's just an overactive anti-virus. Mega has a 10GB download limit, HH is too big for that. I cannot upload it directly to itch.io for a few weeks yet.

the game has a lot of dialogue, which is a problem when the story is not interesting.... but that's NOT the case here! I really don't skip any dialogues because it's so well made, and the amount of content really surprised me. definitely one of the best of the genre
